FAQ
There are hundreds of cable manufacturers out there, what makes INTEXcables different?

INTEXcables are built to last a lifetime. We use mil-spec M642/1-2 connectors made of solid brass covered by a custom shell, also made of solid brass, that comes in different colors and is fully engraveable (with your name, for instance) which helps keep your cable from walking away. We use Belden 8412, a mic cable that's been around for over 40 years. This is a balanced cable with a twisted pair which significantly reduces EMI & RFI levels. The outside covering is made of EPDM rubber, this cable lies flat onstage and won't crawl up your leg or slip causing you to fall. The secret to making the cable last forever, the connector is welded to the cable shield along with a steel spring to relieve cable stress, the #1 cause of any cable failure.

Can I order a yellow cable with a granny apple green shell on one end and a violet shell on the other?

Belden 8412 cable comes in 4 different colors (Black, Red, Yellow & Blue) and the shells in 9 (Black, Natural Brass, Red, Orange, Yellow, Granny Apple Green, Blue, Violet & White). This makes for 324 different combinations, any of which you can order.

OK, I've ordered my cable, when can I expect it to ship?

We normally have a 5 business day backlog on orders. If you ordered custom engraving, this will add 7 - 10 business days depending on how busy our engraver is (this is the only process done out-of-house). Of course, we may also be out of town building another world class recording studio which will delay it even more (check FB for more info or email us, we'll give you the latest news).

We're in America, why are your cables sold in metres?

The short answer is that I only have 10 fingers. The long answer is that in 1975 Congress passed the Metric Conversion Act "to coordinate and plan the increasing use of the metric system in the United States". At first this was to be a voluntary conversion but it eventually fizzled out and now we use both systems in this country, we're just trying to do our part to get the whole planet on the same system. If your heart is really set on a cable that's 17' 8 & 13/16", just let us know and we'll take care of that for you.

I see you offer a money back guarantee, what's the catch?

Our cables not only come with a lifetime warranty (see the last question in this FAQ) but a limited money back guarantee to the original retail purchaser : If for any reason the end customer is not completely satisfied with the product after 72 hours, the customer may return the product unscathed for a complete refund less shipping charges and a 10% restocking fee. This policy does not apply to custom products. We only stock str8-to-str8 cables made with black cable in lengths of 3M, 4M, 5M & 6M, everything else is custom

How come the shortest Pedalboard cable is only 200mm?

The physical dimensions of the strain relief spring prevents us from making anything shorter.

What are the particulars of the lifetime warranty?

INTEXcables are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship to the original retail purchaser subject to the limitations set forth herein. Limited means INTEXcables will repair or replace the cable at its discretion as long as the instrument cable has not been mistreated and has failed during normal use. This warranty does not extend to any part of our products which has been damaged by misuse, accident, incorrect wiring, improper installation, use in violation of the instructions, tampering, alteration or repair outside of the INTEXcables facility. To claim warranty, contact INTEXcables for an RMA number. All units must be returned to INTEXcables prepaid with a brief description of the warranty issue to the following address :
