"It did arrive yesterday morning, and frankly, I'm blown away. It doesn't sound A LOT better than other good quality leads but they DO feel a ton better! Very definitely a high quality cable with top notch sound. Let's just say I would consider upgrading my entire rig". Levi C.
Recording with INTEX cables is amazing -- zero hum zero noise. Mogami gave me 60 cycle hum on the same track. Jean-Marc you be da' man -- Sean McCormick
Who Was I is now in the studio with INTEX Cables!!! In the studio or on the road, Who Was I relies only on Intex Cables. WhoWasI
Thank you for the awesome cable Michael C
Hey bro! Got the cable and it's fantastic! Built like a tank and very durable! I'm certainly interested in using them.. Love the color options for the casing. Any green per chance? Just curious. Thank you for sending this! Shaun H
I am so jealous your at NAMM! Hope it going well!! Your cables are ridiculous, I tried them out @ Sean's and have told everyone at the studio I am affiliated with. Brook S
I've been playing guitar for 9 years. I have gone through a ton of cables. I could never really find one that would last a long time. Toshi recommended these cables. From what I have heard these are pretty awesome cables. I think cables are a very overlooked thing, not many musicians care about their cables. I think I have finally came across a cable that will last me a lifetime....which is a long time...I'm only 13... Thanks (: Spencer R
Hi Jean, I really want to use your product! I think it's fantastic, especially the gain DB increased output of signal. Shaun H
I recieved my cable and I have to say bravo!. When I plugged in to my little Roland amp that I use for teaching, I heard a huge difference. There was simply more " frequency bandwidth" as compared to the cables that I have been currently using. The guys and I at the store compared your cable against all of the high end cables we carry and it simply won. I used it at band rehearsal and gigs this weekend and I was equally impressed. It held up physically ( I have size 16 feet and move around a lot.) and sonically as well. The sound man noticed a difference also. With all that, I will be ordering more cables this weekend and use them proudly! I read in one of your facebook post that you made pedal board connectors for a friend. Do you have that product as well? I would interested in that in order to keep the signal chain as consistent as possible. Thank you for making a great product! Chris C
"I just give compliments where compliments are due. There are a lot of folks that make cables or pedals or amps. Some of them actually know what they are doing. One of my favorite pedal folks are Alfonso Hermida. He is a NASA scientist and actually knows electronics. You are a person that makes cables that actually understands cables, and how to use them in various applications. There are some great techs that are in that special category such as Mike Franceschini and Blackie Pagano. There are amp builders out there that actually know how to build a proper amp but there are many that do not have a clue. Bottom line, you deserve compliments. Keep up the great work." Myles R
Hi Kelcey - Thanks for the info about the sound cables. I am an INTEX Cables endorsed artist and use them exclusively. My own background is in audio electronics (I was the only woman bench tech at Harman/Kardon!) and I currently have access to electronic design engineers who fabricate custom equipment for NASA.....who did me a favor who looked one over and tested it to the nth degree. I have to say that nothing is designed quite like the INTEX product, and the extra "oomph" they give is extraordinary. I put an INTEX cable to the test for several months, both A/B testing it with other products as well as using it for live performance. My initial fascination was with the innovative design for "strain relief"....something I used to repair as well for the many musicians that would come to me with guitar cords that had broken inside. After these findings and much testing, I have been very happy spreading the word to my national and international fan base about the INTEX product. I wish you all the best in your business endeavors and a fine year ahead! J-Bird
Well JM, a success! I've been using my Phil Jones cable as well as a couple of Core X2 bass cables. The CoreX2's have a lot of bottom and more output, I'm assuming because of the solid core wire they use. BUT... today we had fun. :) We did use the X2 for my NS electric upright as it gave it more booty and less piezo quack highs BUT, then when we went to track the rest with my MTD 5 string I said hey, let's do some A/B'ing here.... and the resounding result was the Intex had infinitely more top end, and a much more focused/lively/natural midrange to it than the Core X2, the X2 exhibited more lows BUT was harsh and not focused at all compared to the Intex (which does have great bottom, just not overemphasized) My good friend and producer/engineer Philip Janz was blown away by what he was hearing "all in a cable!? Who knew!" ya, was so good to hear the clarity and liveliness/sponginess in the midrange of the cable. So good. Very satisfied customer !!! :) and ya, gonna be saving for another 4m (with one right angle this time) :) Thanks again Jean-Marc! Peter D
Damn are these fine. I just re-did my pedal board with the new cables… Now there will never be anything but INTEX in my life. As I said on my page… The ONLY thing I let between me and my amp are my INTEX cables… Yes there is a noticeable difference and I plan on adding that to my most asked questions. I have just started it and I want to point out that investing in good cables make quite a difference and I use Intex… I will mainly push your normal cables and I will have Carol shoot better pictures as soon as she can. I shot those and they are not very clear. But I thought a picture was better than no picture. I am planning a trip to Nashville in a couple of weeks and Reggie (Young) needs me to come by and do a cap mod to his amp. He is going to be blown away by his cable. I will get some great pictures of him with it for you. I can’t thank you enough for bringing me into the cutting edge of tone… Phil B
DUDE, your cables win. That is all Kenny E
Jean-Marc, the cable sounds great! Kind of like lifting a veil of off certain frequencies. Found more of the treble or upper end I was looking for in the London Pro blue channel.
Well after using the cable for a bit, it by far surpasses the other cables I have used. The last on I was using was a monster. Sounded good, but it only held up for 6 months of pretty mild use. The new Intex cable sounds better than the monster by far. The construction appears to be superb. The cable is sturdy. Actually pretty heavy-heavy duty. I am liking this cable a lot! When comparing it to off the shelf $15 dollar cables. It is head and shoulders above them. I find I am able to use my tone knobs even more. Better response to subtle changes. Craig L
I am THRILLED with the cable! Outstanding workmanship, great materials, warm pristine sound. Thank you so much for incredible attention to detail. I will indeed purchase another, as soon as my current project is delivered. I'm mixing the next to last song right now. I will hand out the cards you sent to every musician I know that appreciates fine quality gear. James D
it actually improves keys sound as well --believe it or not -- the patches from my synths come out enhanced and clear like never before I had to turn down the audio interface vol while recording a short solo session last night. It fits like a glove, man- Trying it out on my Nord, the signal response is spectacular- Just lavish. Alessandro
I have never had a cable actually improve my guitar sound untill I tried "Intex Cables"......They are the best! JD B
"When it comes to cables you can buy the cheapest ones that you can find if you want, but you get what you pay for. They will sound bad, and they will break easily. You will end up spending more money replacing bad cables than just buying a good QUALITY cable. What I love about Intex, is that not only are they quality cables, but Jean-Marc really goes the extra mile to make them unique to the artist that is using them. When you have your name engraved on all of your cables there is NEVER a dispute on whether or not the cable belongs to you. And my live rig has never sounded as good as it does with Intex cables at my disposal. I am a firm believer in the product as well as the man behind them, and I am proud to be an endorsee of INTEX cables." Jaxon M
Hey Jean-Marc, I just finally had a chance to check out my new cable a few minutes ago - it sounds great! I did an A/B comparison with my Monster cable I'd been using for the past few years, and this Intex cable offers so much more in the way of clarity in my different amp tones. I love it, thank you! Jason A W
We get a lot of cables for review but I must say we send most of them back due to the old cliché ‘If you can’t say anything good…’ Bla, Bla, Bla you know what I mean. Here, We have a review about the Intex Cable. They are hand made and they use the best stuff that is made in the good ole U.S.A. to make them. They use military connectors that are built like a tank right down to the high quality Belden cable (8412). They do not use compression or crimping to connect the connector to the cable but they weld the connector to the cable. Yep, you read it right. Weld the connector to the cable! This really does the job, I must say. Like I said before LIKE A TANK! Just recently I donated my P.A. and my time to do a benefit with 16 Bands in 10 Hours!! I brought my INTEX Cable and it was used for the whole concert as part of the back line for the Guitarist and Bass Players. I figured if I was going review this cable, this would be the do or die for it. It went thru insane stress all day, act after act, pull after pull, being dropped on the floor repeatedly, stepped on, stretched, pulled. I think you get the picture. After the show we were coiling cords to go in the anvil case and I took back my INTEX and wiped it off and gave it to my wife to take home for me. I figured if it paid it’s dues and came out unscathed after that concert it should do nicely being used in our recording studio where it will be used almost everyday and I will not have to worry about it working or not. I also must say these cables sound great! They sound very transparent with no compression. All in all these cables get a five out of five thumbs up…! Go get yourself one and see for yourself. You’re never going to need another cable. KEEP ROCKIN’ Pieter H
Got the cable!!!! Wow this is some serious quality!!!! These cables not only sound great but are built to last!!!! Really is some nice work, built like a tank!!! Bruce B
Hi Jean-Marc, After spending some time with this cable I can safely say, "WOW". Sounds really great! I've used other cables that upgraded the sound, but the Intex is a HD version of guitar tone. I found myself inspired & digging my sound so much more, it felt like the first time I discovered really good distortion back in the day. Tom K
Time to give a shout-out to INTEX cables and Jean-Marc for caring about customers. I honestly cannot reccommend INTEX cables enough. These cables are made to last an eternity. I've had mine for around nine months and have not had a singe mishap. Not a single one. Also major thumbs up for excellent support and a general good attitude. Angel K
Just wanted to report on my new Intex cable. I received it very quickly and used it today at performance volume for the first time. I use my cable to connect pedal board to my amp and use a Line 6 wireless on the board. Could I hear a difference between my Mogami Gold and the Intex? - In a word, No. But with that being said, the Intex definitely feels more solidly constructed and will assume primary position and the Mogami will become the backup. Now I did use the cable direct to my BF Deluxe and compared it to the Mogami and a basic el-cheapo model, all about 20 feet long. To my ears, and remember that they have been trained, but abused for over 50 years, the difference between the Intex and Mogami compared to the el-cheapo was dramatic. The difference between the Intex and the Mogami was a bit more subtle, but after A/B'ing several times, I can say that the lows had a bit more punch, without being boomy, and the highs were a bit more defined. Stephen C
I'm really lovin' the tone and build quality out of my first cable, you get nothing but rave reviews from me! Timothy V
Testing out the custom guitar cable Jean-Marc at Intex designed for me! Notice the connector. Awesome! Tad H
Hey Jean-Marc - I just needed to write and tell you how amazing YOUR cables are, my rig sounds night and day. When I first swapped them out my tone sounded fuller with a clarity I haven't heard out my rig ever, It was so clear I actually backed down some of my settings cause I didn't need to drive the tone as hard just to get it to punch out! The speaker cables as well have such a huge impact! I just can't believe what I am hearing out of my rig and all the guys even noticed how much the tone has improved, it is very drastic in the night and day tone sound. I have used so many different cables in all my years of playing but must say your workmanship completely kills the competition and I can not wait to get my hands on more INTEX cables. For me I will be preaching B.I. and A.I. (Before INTEX and After INTEX!). Thank you so much Jean-Marc the excitement I am getting out of my tone is tremendous, I don't want to stop playing!!! John Q
You guys do great work. I find that the ends are a bit too heavy, and can sometimes pull out of your guitar on their own. Fantastic tone though. Johnny H
"I wanted to drop you this note to let you know I'm appreciating and enjoying my INTEXcable. I've discovered a couple of things that I didn't know before. I had been using a cloth-covered cable from a regional music store, it cost me $20; at the time I needed one ASAP. I bought the INTEXcable because I wanted a bit more length, and the old cable had developed an occasional, annoying crackle due to minor damage. I wanted a made in the U.S.A. product with Belden and Switchcraft, and INTEX fit the bill.
What I didn't know with the old cable is apparently it isn't shielded, or shielded well. I have a Fender American Vintage 1957 Reissue Stratocaster. One of the features, or
shortcomings, depending on your view, is that Fender left the pickup cavity unchanged in design since 1957. It's an RF magnet, being unshielded. Turning a TV on 15 feet away would result in enough noise to make it unusable.
As it turns out, I was blaming the guitar when the old cable was the primary culprit. The Fender with the INTEXcable is now 85% as quiet as my Heritage H150 with P.A.F. type humbuckers. The clear bell-like chimes with the Fender are so much better with the low noise floor. Whether it would be quiet enough on stage with lots of RF, I don't know, but that would be down to the guitar, not the cable.
The main difference I've noticed with the H150 is the brass Switchcraft plug goes in the Switchcraft guitar jack much better than the old cable. There was always a hitch-feeling when plugging the old cable in. It did not have Switchcraft ends, and certainly not MIL-SPEC ones. Thanks!" Jim from Iowa
i just gotta say this b4 i head to TSO 2nite ... i can't believe the difference in sound quality from these AMAZING cables by INTEX cables !!! these r hand made and i really hear a huge difference , and they r built like a tank , u can just feel the quality ! totally amazing ! fantastic job Jean-Marc !!!! U GUYS RULE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/ JJ S
Dude!! Your cables are a work of art!!! You know I love that!! ; ) Good job bro, your cable sounds really good! Its actually quieter than the lava mogami upgrade, and a bit more dynamic, and fuller sounding, love it! If I didn't have all these Colossal cables, I would be ordering more! Just a short 2 and a half feet upgrade cable for my wireless unit made a difference! Good stuff! Haha! I just recorded with it, and I love what I'm hearing! Thx again Jean-Marc !! I don't know if it's because I got you to make your cable 6in shorter,or your cable just kicks the mogami cable ass,but my tone is kill N with your cable!! In a few words, more detail! Fuller sound! May get you to make me four 15 footers!!! I'll let you know! ; ) Kasper R
Hi Jean-Marc, Made the "mistake" of checking your product web-site. Excellent. Ordered up 2 x cables, now I'll be like a big kid looking for the postman! Funny feeling when the guys in the band see them they'll be a few more orders heading your way ! Hey, need a Scotland/UK product champion, I'm your man! Maybe a bit premature as I've yet to actually use them but I'm sure they'll live up to expectations.Nothing wrong with a bit of enthusiasm. Never thought I'd be excited about buying a new guitar lead though! All the best Ian B
Hi Jean-Marc, Cables arrived at the week-end and certainly looked the business, and exactly as specified. Held off messaging you until I'd had a chance to use them in the studio, which I did last night. Excellent. Appreciate your attention over what I recognize was a small order. No hesitation in recommending your products to fellow musicians at this end (already "bored" friends & family) which will hopefully generate further interest/orders in your product. All the very best for Xmas and the New Year. Ian B
Hello Jean-Marc, WOW! That is a VERY nice cable! I usually temper my enthusiasm until I've had more of a chance to spend some time with something, but this is very impressive already! First thing I noticed was that the connector seemed a little larger, but in reality it was a different shape altogether. I feel like it makes a more solid connection and yet moves in and out of the jack with more ease than traditional cables...I will let you know more as I put it through a workout, but my first impression is very positive! Thank you for letting me give it a once-over. I am very impressed already and that's not all that easy. Be well and well speak soon. Peace, Patrick
Hey Jean-Marc - I LOVE YOUR CABLE! I just got back from Gerald Veasley’s Bass Boot Camp, where I performed and instructed for the duration. I had the other bass players use your cable during rehearsals and used it myself during the performance. I’ve also talked with Mike Tobias about it (he is very impressed as well). I try to be as objective as I can be and I simply look for results, it’s the only thing I’m interested in. Well, at these shows I’ve had more comments about my sound than ever before. I usually get these comments, but not to this extend. Therefore, unless I’ve radically improved my playing all of a sudden, it would be your cable translating the sound. I am very impressed. Please let me buy a couple of cables so I can send you back the demo cable, I’m using it constantly. Thank you for creating a wonderful product! Peace, Patrick
So far I A/B'd your against Evidence there is a marked resemblance, but a slight darker, not muddy mind you or colored just a darker tone on low E string
from 1st fret to 7th Same for A string only to the fifth fret (string vibration characteristics). First impressions, very neutral, not colored at all, looks amazing too, well manufactured. Ran through Summit Audio Tube Preamp DI box,Grado SR325is headphones. Will A/B more through my Avalon U5 tonight Lowdown Bass
Wow , I was just thinking last night to email you!!!! I love it! I put it up against my Mogami & others and it has more body. We used it last night on Bass and it was magic! Great work! Roy Z R
Hi Jean-Marc, How have you been? Yesterday we rehearsed and played our first show of the tour. When I go out with Fates Warning, we always play through Triple Rectifier amps and so I remember very well my last experience with these. I felt like my guitar sounded better than ever yesterday. The cable really preserves a beautiful full-frequency sound. Everything is just more clear. The low-end and body to the notes is very present. Especially for leads, this aspect really shines and makes the notes vibrant. I love it, could go on and on about it. Mike A
Intex Cables Got my back !!, I'll never trust another cable other than Intex as long as I live, Jean-Marc is an absolute pleasure to speak to, and if its not on the Intexcables.com site, shoot Jean-Marc an email and he can certainly build you what you're looking for. Bobby D
Hey Jean-Marc The Intexcables are great, clear and warm sounding, thanks! Works great with both my Phil Jones guitar Cub and the jazzkat amp and Triggs guitar. I found out about the cables on the website Sound Islands Music: http://stores.soundislandmusic.com/ After reading I decided that I had to try them, a good decision ;-) Best regards, Tue B
Hello Jean-Marc Thank you for the additional information. I came across your cables when I started researching cables. I searched "best guitar cables" and the first review I read included Intex. I was looking at SpectraFlex, PRS, and Intex. I chose your cables because I wanted colored cables and sturdy plugs. The fact your cables are welded along with washability, the spring component, and the hex plug kind of did it for me. I hope they stand the test of time. Best Regards, Paul G
Hey Jean Marc Just returned from my trip to find your cables waiting for me. They're beautiful. Thank you. Paul G
PS. I have to say I was not pleased about myself for sending you the missive that said at the end "I hope they stand the test of time" - it wasn't necessary. I've simply grown tired of all the claims so many companies make only to find sub quality workmanship and inferior products, but I believe a lot of other people are growing tired as well, and the tide is turning, and it's obvious after getting your cables in my hands that you actually care about your product. I know they will be great Jean Marc. I can't wait to try them. Paul G
Wow Jean Marc. These cables are great. I'll be back for more. Well done. Paul G
Hi Jean Marc Just a quick note for you. I've used a lot of cables over the years, from boutique to toys; After using your Intex cables I venture to say I doubt there is another cable in the market that compares to the feel, the sound, the craftsmanship, the obvious durability, the attention to detail, and the quality of Intex Cables. You have set the bar. Best Regards. PS. The Velcro cable wrap you supplied with your cables? That's just an awesome detail. Paul G
The cables just came in this morning, and we're using them tonight for our gig. I absolute love them already! Aesthetically they are gorgeous, and the sound clarity I've gotten through them is beautiful. I actually heard about INTEX through a web search. I had searched for a while for the "best instrument cables" and on a list of 10 INTEX was listed around #3. The information on the list had me intrigued immediately. So I went to your site, read through your product descriptions and knew that these were gonna be a treat and would fit exactly to what I needed. The idea of custom cables had always interested me and your services seemed at a very high level of quality. I'm overjoyed to find that I was correct. As far as the wait for the cables, not once did I consider that there was a delay, for the quality of product that you delivered I would easily have waited twice as long. With this purchase and the quality you have provided, you have most certainly gained a lifelong customer! Thank you so much for this product and I look forward to working through your company again in the future. Justin K
Cables are siiiiick! Thx sooo much! Dave C
If anyone has any doubts about the quality or value of Intex cables, just try to buy one on Ebay. You can't, because there are not any for sale. You will find all the Mog's, Mon's, PW's, GL's, or virtually any other high end brand except Intex. Just try to find any other brand of anything that you can't find on Ebay. Think about it next time you need a cable and get ready to buy that $10 bargain cable. DISCLAIMER: Not a paid endorser or advertiser for Intex. Just a satisfied user. Guitarded Guy
My cable arrived yesterday, and so far I'm extremely satisfied! I'm just a hobbyist musician for the most part, but I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to the gear I use in my home studio, and up to this point all the instrument cables I've used have been very low quality; either noisy/microphonic or flimsy or both, and this is the opposite of that sort of low-rent equipment. It feels indestructible, and the audio passing through it doesn't seem to be colored by the cable in the slightest. I discovered INTEXcables while doing some online research about quality cables; all of the reviews of your products were glowing. I can see why. If I need further cabling (and I likely will in the long run) I think I will be returning to INTEX to kit myself out. I appreciate the care instructions! I expect this cable will last me a very long time. Thanks so much for supplying an excellent product! I intend to pass on the good word to my musician friends. Spending more once on a great product beats funneling pocket money endlessly into a succession of poor ones any day. David H
Received cable yesterday. It simply sounds awesome. I could not be happier with my purchase. Thanks very much for helping me out during thanksgiving holiday weekend. All the best, Dane A
The cables have been phenomenal so far. A far cry from what I'm used to. They are clean, round, and the equivalent of a a 4k tv compared to a 1080p (basic cables). I really enjoy these cables. I learned about the from some online guitar magazine. I honestly can't remember. But it was in the top 10 of HQ guitar cables. The reviewer stated that these cables were great and DID add a little character to the signal. I don't know how you feel about that, and I can't vouch for that because I haven't compared a bunch of high quality cables to determine whether or not your product does add some coloring to the signal chain. But I can say, for sure, that these really help my guitar communicate well with my amp. Ryan M
My Intex cables are the best ones ever used. They have taken a beating and they continue to hold up and they sound far superior to any cable that I've ever used thank you for such a great product ! Chris C
I'm not exactly easy on cables.... i am putting these through the ringer but the build quality is intense! Welding instead of soldering is worth the cost of admission alone....i got some testimonials from a few of my buddies on the road and started talking to Jean-Marc loving these cables! I'm gonna order some more Jamie H
Gave my new 21' cable a workout Saturday at a 10 hour rehearsal. All I can say is "WOW". INTEX cables are incredible. The cable adds "0" noise to the system and all the notes running from my Dingwall bass to my ampeg amp are crystal clear and exactly how they should sound. Thanks Jean-Mark and INTEX, I will eventually be changing over all my cables to INTEX! (and that is a trunk full of them...lol)......Neil A
